Interviewer: The characters on the show seem, for
the most part, very close. How about the cast? Are you
guys close, too?
Charisma: I don't remember it ever being as close as
it is right now, actually. I was just thinking of that
the other day. We were shooting this particularly challenging
episode, episode 19. We were all here all day long and
the set-ups were really quick and close, so there's
really no need for us to go to our trailers and make
phone calls and do what we need to do between takes.
We were actually kind of forced to stay closer and it
was really, really nice. I'm really blessed. I feel
very lucky. Amy and I were just talking the other day.
It's a really good thing that I like my cast.
Given the opportunity, would you like to do 'Buffy'/'Angel'
crossovers again, or is it actually better that they're
a thing of the past?
I have no longing desire to do that, not that I wouldn't
want to see those people again, because I do see them
all the time. But I think it's really important to acknowledge
and sustain our show the way it is. It's really taken
on a life of its own, and I think it's really good to
watch. It stands on its own, and I think crossovers
would be more of a disservice or a regression rather
than a progression.
The buzz is that Angel and Cordy are going to hook
up soon, probably even before the end of the season.
What do you make of that?
I don't know. You know, nothing is ever happily-ever-after.
Ever. There's going to be conflict, and I'm excited
for that. I don't even know that there'll be any relationship
at all. I've read interviews with David Greenwalt and
Joss, and nothing seems to be concrete. Nothing seems
like it's going to be long-standing. They're being deliberately
vague!
Beyond whatever comes of the relationship between
Angel and Cordy, what else would you like to see for
Cordelia in the future?
I think there were a lot of issues I had in the beginning
that have totally been fulfilled. She's fighting. She's
kind of falling in love. She is working towards redemption
herself, in a way, because she was such a bitch before!
Now she has depth and dexterity, meaning and purpose
in her life. So those are all things I really wanted
to work toward. All good drama. And all that has come
to fruition, so I really don't have anything left now!
