THE WB CONTINUES ITS MOMENTUM, AS IT SCORES GAINS IN ADULTS 18-34
EVERY NIGHT SO FAR DURING THE FEBRUARY SWEEP THROUGH 6 NIGHTS OF THE SWEEP, THE WB TRAILS ONLY "SURVIVOR"-LED CBS IN YEAR-TO-YEAR GAINS IN ADULTS & WOMEN 18-34 & IS TIED FOR #2 IN ADULT 18-49 GROWTH

BURBANK, CA (February 7, 2001) — Through six days of the February sweep, The WB continues the growth story it began during its premiere week. The WB on Tuesday, scored another night of growth in its key adult 18-34 demo. The WB has now achieved gains on every night it has broadcast during this vital ratings period.

Sweep-to-date The WB, with gains of +19% in adults 18-34 (1.9) and +14% in women 18-34 (2.5), trails only Survivor-led CBS in the growth department. The WB is also tied for #2 in growth among the adult 18-49 demo, scoring a gain of +13% (1.7). Additionally, The WB achieves gains of +18% in men 18-34, +5% in persons 12-34 (2.3), +14% in men 12-34, +10% in women 18-49 (2.2), +9% in men 18-49 and +9% in total viewers (4.3 million).

The Tuesday night growth story has mirrored The WB’s season so far as the combination of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and ANGEL both scored gains in all 18-34 demos.

BUFFY led off the night placing #3 in ALL KEY DEMOS — adults 18-34 (2.9), women 18-34 (3.4), persons 12-34 (3.1) and females 12-34 (3.9). BUFFY was also the #1-rated show of the night among female teens (5.1).

BUFFY scored year-to-year gains of +32% in adults 18-34, +21% in women 18-34, +41% in men 18-34 (2.4), +19% in adults 18-49 (2.5), +16% in women 18-49 (2.9), +18% in men 18-49 (2.0), +7% in persons 12-34, +18% in women 12-34 and in total viewers (4.8 million).

ANGEL scored year-to-year gains in adults 18-34 (+29%, 2.7), women 18-34 (+23%, 3.2), men 18-34 (+38%, 2.2) and women 18-49 (+8%, 2.7).

For the night, The WB was up from the same night a year ago in all 18-34 and 18-49 demos as well as in women 12-34. The biggest growth was in the 18-34 demos in which The WB gained +27% in adults (2.8), +22% in women (3.3) and +35% in men (2.3).
