LONDON (Variety) - Marc Blucas ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer")
and Henry Thomas ("Gangs of New York") are lining up to
star in "I Capture the Castle," an $8 million Brit period
romance adapted from a 1940s novel.
They will play a pair of rich and dashing Americans who cause romantic
turmoil for the teen-aged daughters of a penniless upper-crust English
family living in a dilapidated castle. The girls will be played
by Brit unknowns Rose Byrne and Romola Garai. Bill Nighy ("Lucky
Break") will play their bohemian father, a blocked writer.
Tim Fywell will direct.
Producer David Parfitt, who won an Oscar for "Shakespeare
in Love," has been developing the project for several years.
It is set to start shooting Sept. 24.
